Art Stage Singapore 2012: Project Stage + Special Project

Booth B1-09, PA-D04 12 - 15 January 2012

TKG+ is excited to present the works of Yuan Goang-Ming (b. 1965) as a Special Project (Booth PA-D04) and Wang Yahui (b. 1973) at Project Stage (Booth B1-09).

Yuan Goang-Ming’s three-channel video installation Disappearing Landscape – Passing II (2011) (Booth PA-D04) will be on view for the first time outside of Taiwan at Art Stage 2012. Speeding up and slowing down through interiors and exteriors, with the sounds of gurgling water, footsteps, and breathing, Disappearing Landscape – Passing II travels through the quotidian. The work is introspective as it surveys the interior and surroundings of Yuan’s home and the staging of Yuan’s late father’s room, but also looks outward, as it traverses the ruins surrounding Yuan’s home.

Wang Yahui similarly looks to her surroundings in her project Let’s Meet Yesterday, in which she creates stories about making connections with fleeting moments and crafts a memory for the future based on the continually changing scene in the suburb in which she lives. The video You are My Sunshine (2011) and eleven photographs from the series Make a Flower Arrangement for Me - A Work for a Building Plot (2011) propose ways to encounter the past.
